Gymnastics is a great activity for kids to enhance their physical, emotional, and social abilities. By participating in this exciting and challenging sport, children can improve their coordination and balance, build strength, meet new friends, and more.

However, starting gymnastics can be a big step for kids since it often requires a high level of discipline, focus, and time spent practicing. The NinjaZone at America’s Kids in Motion allows children to develop many of the same basic skills and coordination used in gymnastics in a new and exciting way.

What is the NinjaZone?

The NinjaZone is a program at America’s Kids in Motion in Clovis, CA, that combines the coordination and balance of gymnastics with obstacle courses, fun drills and creativity with high energy movement. Through the progression of this collaborative program, children can increase their confidence and develop physical strength and coordination.

Some of the key benefits include:

Physical Development: Coordination, gross motor skills, balance, flexibility, and strength are all developed through combining martial arts skills, obstacle challenges, gymnastics, and free movement used in the NinjaZone.

Emotional Development: Each kid in the NinjaZone program progresses at their own pace and faces their own unique challenges. When children face these obstacles, they develop skills to manage frustration, enhance their self-confidence by acquiring new abilities, and improve their social and emotional intelligence by working with others. All of this development takes place in a secure and encouraging environment.

Cognitive Development: NinjaZone offers challenges that help kids enhance their problem-solving and decision-making abilities, ultimately strengthening their critical thinking skills. The program’s focus on discipline and perseverance can also help them learn to value hard work and dedication.

Creative Development: NinjaZone also incorporates a free movement section into the program where children learn to move creatively and express themselves through movement. This freedom of choice can help foster creativity, imagination, and a sense of individuality.

What is the Best Age for NinjaZone Classes?

The NinjaZone is divided into three age groups designed to provide the best training and growth opportunities for each kid in that program. Each of these three zones is overseen by coaches who evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each child, and create a safe and effective plan for skill development.

Baby Ninja

This class is meant for children (up to 3 years old) who are walking on their own. Baby Ninja differs from those designed for older age groups, as it does not incorporate sport-like obstacle challenges. Instead, the main focus is developing important skills such as listening, focus, gross motor development, and following instructions. This program is about parents and kids having fun together while learning and growing. So get ready to move and participate in class with your little one!

Lil’ Ninja

The Lil’ Ninja course is a coed program designed for children 3 – 5 years old. This is the entry-level class to introduce young kids to the fundamentals of the program and this all-new sport. Children in the Lil’ Ninja class work on listening skills, confidence, and the basics of gymnastics through a strategic progression of exercises.

Ninja Training

The Ninja Training is split into separate boys and girls classes, with the girls’ age range between 4.5 – 11 years old, and the boys between 6 – 11 years old. In each group, the class focuses on more advanced skills that combine gymnastics and obstacle activities. Kids will learn gymnastics techniques like flips, rolls, jumps, and kicks, while obstacle courses develop their speed and agility.

In the upper level of the NinjaZone, students will progress through several levels as they work on their skills. These levels can be seen in the color of the children’s headbands, progressing from White to Yellow, Green, and Blue.
