Kids can join the Notable Youth Choir at AKIM from ages 5–12. No previous singing or choir experience is required, so children can participate whether they’re new to singing or already enjoy making music and performing with others.
No. Children do not need to audition to join the Notable Youth Choir. Our choir lessons welcome kids ages 5–12 with all levels of singing experience and give them opportunities to develop their vocal and ensemble skills as part of a group.
During choir class, kids learn foundational singing skills such as pitch, rhythm, harmony, breath support, vocal technique, and listening. Through group songs and ensemble practice, they also learn how to blend their voices, follow a conductor, sing with others, and prepare music for performances.
Yes. Performances are part of the Notable Youth Choir experience, with seasonal showcases giving students opportunities to perform the music they’ve learned for family and friends. Preparing and performing together also gives kids experience singing as an ensemble in front of an audience.
